Overview
Global Partners (formerly Global Companies) imports petroleum products from global sources, but its marketing is strictly regional. The company wholesales heating oil, residual fuel oil, diesel oil, kerosene, and gasoline to commercial, retail, and wholesale customers in New England. A major player in the regional home heating oil wholesale market, Global Partners operates storage facilities at about 20 bulk terminals with a total storage capacity of 8 million barrels. Global Partners was founded in 1933 as a one-truck heating oil retailer by current CEO Eric Slifka's grandfather, Abraham Slifka. The Slifka family controls about 43% of the company.
