Online Job Searches Attract Young, Well-Educated, and African Americans - Online job searchers are young, well-educated, and racially diverse, according to a study by Scarborough Research. The study finds that online job searchers are 62 percent more likely to be 18 to 34, 23 percent more likely to have some college education, and 47 percent more likely to be African American than traditional job seekers. The study finds that online job searchers are also avid Internet users and downloaders of digital content, suggesting potential means to attract this segment.
Certiport Partners with Kelly Services - Certiport, which provides computing skills certification on such software packages as Microsoft and Adobe, has partnered with Kelly Services to place Certiport's certified candidates. The study also finds that HR staffs spend about a third of their time in the initial recruitment process, locating and screening candidates. The study was based on interviews with more than 500 senior HR executives, and found that most companies' biggest challenge is finding qualified candidates.
