Getty Petroleum Marketing Company Description

A remnant of J. Paul Getty's oil empire, Getty Petroleum Marketing distributes gasoline and heating fuels. The company, which became a subsidiary of Russian oil giant LUKOIL in 2001, has about 2,100 gas stations (some of which maintain convenience stores, auto repair centers, or car washes) in 13 northeastern and mid-Atlantic US states. Originally a part of Getty Petroleum (now Getty Realty), the company sells heating oil through its KOSCO subsidiary. Getty Petroleum Marketing expanded its US retail chain by acquiring 779 gas stations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania from ConocoPhillips.
