Overview
Like the twins of Gemini, Gemina and the ambitions of Cesare Romiti are mirror images. The holding company sits at the head of a group of subsidiaries as well as investments in companies that include helicopter and airport operations. Cesare Romiti, who brought carmaker Fiat back from the brink of collapse in the 1970s, came out of retirement in 1998 to control the company and has used it to spin a web of holdings in various industries in an attempt to recast the firm as an industrial holding company. Investimenti Infrastrutture, a holding company owned by the Bennetton family, owns nearly a quarter of Gemina.
