GE Oil & Gas, a unit of General Electric's G&E Energy division, strives to be all things to all players in the oil and gas market. The company provides compression technologies, transportation, processing, refining, and storage, drilling and production services, and power generation turnkey services to energy related companies worldwide. GE Oil & Gas has an installed base of 11,000 compressors, 18,000 centrifugal pumps, 5,000 turbines, 2,000 turboexpanders, 100,000 surface systems, and 1,000 subsea systems. The company has inspected more than 391,460 miles of pipelines. In 2011 the company acquired the Well Support unit of John Wood Group for $2.8 billion.
