GE Consumer & Industrial Company Description
GE Consumer & Industrial (GECI) is comfortable at home and in the factory. Parent GE created the firm in 2004 by joining GE Consumer Products and GE Industrial Systems. GECI's appliance division makes home appliances (refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, ovens) under such brands as Hotpoint, Monogram, and Profile; it also provides repair service. The lighting division makes some 6,000 lighting (automotive, florescent, halogen) products for residential and commercial markets. The industrial division makes integrated electrical equipment (circuit breakers, motors, control systems) for residential, commercial, industrial, and utility markets. In May 2008 GE made plans to exit its 101-year-old appliances business.
