Overview
Greater Baltimore Medical Center Healthcare, also known as GBMC, is an integrated health system for residents of Baltimore and surrounding counties. It includes the 300-bed Greater Baltimore Medical Center, which provides cardiology, surgery, women's services, oncology, and other specialty and general medical services. The medical center's emergency room treats about 60,000 patients every year. GBMC also includes the Hospice of Baltimore, the Hospice of Howard County, the Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care, plus various clinics and medical offices. The GBMC Foundation coordinates fundraising for the health network. GBMC has formed an affiliation with John Hopkins Medicine.
