Gazprom Neft Company Description

One of Russia's largest integrated oil companies, Gazprom Neft (formerly Siberian Oil Company, or Sibneft) is engaged in exploration, production, refining, and marketing of petroleum products. Retail operations include about 1,800 gas stations. The company, with proved reserves of 621 million tonnes of oil equivalent, controls refineries in Moscow, Mozyr, Noyabrsk, and Omsk that produce more than 32.7 million tonnes of oil products per year. Gazprom Neft (as Sibneft) was once controlled by UK-residing, Chelsea soccer club-owning Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich through investment company Millhouse Capital. In 2005 Gazprom bought 73% of Sibneft from Millhouse Capital for $11 billion.
