Forney Corporation maintains a presence in Western Europe and Asia, in addition to its manufacturing base in the US. R. H. Forney founded the company in 1927 as the Forney Combustion Engineering Company. It was owned by Kidde PLC until that company was acquired by United Technologies in 2005.
