The company, also called ITW Foils, makes hot stamping foils and holographic foils, films, and lamination products that put a shine on everything from cosmetic bottles to paperbacks. Hot foils are stamped on merchandise to create eye-catching designs and logos in pigmented colors, metallic shades, printed designs, diffraction patterns, and holograms. Its security product group offers high-security holograms that prevent unauthorized duplication. ITW Foils also makes equipment and supplies for the printing and pharmaceutical industries. The company was acquired by Illinois Tool Works in 2001.
