Fisk University Company Description
Fisk University is a predominately African-American liberal arts university with an enrollment of around 1,000 students. Notable alumni include W. E. B. Du Bois and Booker T. Washington, as well as poets James Weldon Johnson and Nikki Giovanni (now a professor at Virginia Tech). It has 25 majors and pre-professional certification programs. The oldest university in Nashville, Fisk was founded in 1866 as an institution of higher learning committed to educating the country's newly freed slaves. It is affiliated with the United Church of Christ.
