Overview
Grupo Financiero Santander is the parent of Banco Santander Serfin, one of Mexico's largest banks after Bancomer and Citigroup's Banamex. The bank offers consumer and business banking and lending through approximately 1,100 branches across Mexico. It also provides property/casualty and life insurance, private banking, asset management, and brokerage services. The bank has about 9 million customers. Spanish banking giant Grupo Santander, which owns stakes in several Latin American banks, bought the shares of Grupo Financiero Santander it didn't already own from Bank of America in 2010.
