Overview
Faurecia is one of Europe's largest automotive seat makers. In addition to car seats, it also manufactures exhaust systems, vehicle interiors and doors, and front-end systems. Europe accounts for 75% of sales. It supplies most major carmakers, including GM, Ford, Mercedes, BMW, and Volkswagen. Faurecia also owns Faurecia Exhaust Systems and is acquiring EMCON -- both are US-based exhaust system makers. Bertrand Faure and ECIA, a PSA Peugeot Citroën subsidiary, merged in 1999 to create Faurecia. Peugeot is Faurecia's largest customer, as well as its majority owner (71%). Faurecia's CEO seat has been hard to keep filled, turning over the title three times in less than a year.
