The largest drugstore chain south of the border, Farmacias Benavides fills prescriptions, sells over-the-counter medications, and offers a wide variety of personal care products through stores in about 155 Mexican cities. The chain's more than 640 drugstores are primarily located across Northern Mexico. Stores also offer a complete photo center, cosmetics, personal care products, sundries, and other convenience items, with outlets in Monterrey, Guadalajara, Tampico, and Hermosillo also offering home delivery options. Benavides also operates an online pharmacy. Chilean pharmacy chain Farmacias Ahumada (FASA) controls the company through a 68% stake it acquired in 2002.
