FANUC is a diehard fan of robotics. Founded in 1958, the company develops, produces, and sells robots and robomachines, including robots used in precision assembly and injection molding machines. Its largest segment focuses on computer numerical control (CNC), servo motor (units with error sensing feedback for correction), and laser products that are used in factory automation (FA) systems primarily in the automotive and machine tool industries. Automotive customers include GM, Ford, Peugeot Citroën, and Volkswagen. The company generates a majority of its sales in the Asia/Pacific region, with about half of its total sales coming from Japan. FANUC has additional operations in Europe and North America.
