Euronext Brussels Company Description

Next up: Euronext Brussels. The Belgian stock market is one of the component exchanges that make up Euronext, which, when taken as a whole, is the second-largest bourse in Europe after the London Stock Exchange. Euronext arose in 2000 from the combination of the Brussels, Amsterdam, and Paris exchanges; later, the Lisbon exchange and the London-based LIFFE derivatives market came on board. Euronext Brussels is the successor to a string of exchanges reaching back to the Bourse de Fonds Publics de Bruxelles, which was founded in 1801 during Napoleon's rule of Belgium. In 2007 the company became part of NYSE Euronext.
