Overview

Snow birds and empty nesters flock to communities developed and owned by Equity LifeStyle Properties. The real estate investment trust (REIT) owns and operates lifestyle-oriented residential properties aimed at retirees, vacationers, and second home owners. Other properties also focus on providing affordable housing for families. It leases developed areas for factory-built homes, cottages, cabins, and recreational vehicles. The REIT's portfolio includes more than 340 properties containing some 111,000 lots in about 30 states and Canada. Its properties are similar to site-built residential subdivisions, with centralized entrances, utilities, gutters, curbs, and paved streets.
