Internationally the group serves 11 million customers in 14 countries (primarily in South America and Europe) and has an installed capacity of 24,492 MW. E.ON and Gas Natural made bids of $47-plus billion and $26-plus billion respectively for Endesa. In 2007 Enel and Acciona jumped in the fray, buying 70% and 25% of the company, repectively when Gas Natural dropped out of the bidding. E.ON acquired Endesa in 2008.
