Color me impressed: Empresa Nacional de Electricidad SA (Endesa Chile) is the largest power generator in Chile, as well as a leading power generator in South America. Endesa Chile's 47 power plants in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru have a total capacity of 12,320 MW (primarily hydroelectric); the company sells power to utilities and industrial customers. It also has interests in gas transmission operations in Chile. Endesa Chile sold its Chilean power transmission subsidiary, Transelec, as well as its highway infrastructure interests. Endesa Chile is 60%-owned by utility holding company Enersis, which itself is majority-owned by Spanish utility Endesa.
