The carrier provides scheduled passenger and cargo services to more than 90 destinations in about 60 countries around the globe. It operates a fleet of more than 100 Boeing and Airbus jets. Emirates is owned by the government of Dubai, one of seven city-states that makes up the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The airline is part of the Emirates Group, which also includes airport management (Dnata) and travel services businesses. Emirates was founded in 1985.
