Electrohome Company Description
Its name may conjure images of Jetson-esque mansions, but these days Electrohome Limited (formerly a consumer electronics manufacturer) functions primarily as a holding company. The company was founded in 1907 as Pollack Manufacturing and sold record players. The company's main interest is a 26% stake in international stereoscopic display company Mechdyne, which formerly operated as Fakespace Systems. Electrohome sold its trademarks and related licensing agreements to SYNNEX Canada Limited in 2008 for $1.5 million. It plans to cease operations in the fall of 2008 and sell its stake in Mechdyne.
