Eisai Company Description
Eisai develops, manufactures, and distributes prescription pharmaceuticals, diagnostic products, and pharmaceutical production equipment around the world. Prescription drug sales account for a majority of the company's revenues and are led by Aricept, which treats Alzheimer's disease. Other drugs include Myonal, a muscle relaxant, and AcipHex, an acid reflux and ulcer treatment (sold as Pariet in Japan and Europe). In Japan the company also distributes generic and non-prescription drugs and consumer health products. Eisai also makes food additives and chemicals, in addition to drug manufacturing equipment and systems.
