Overview

One media company covers the cutting edge in Scandinavia and beyond. Egmont International operates more than 100 companies in 30 countries through five main divisions: Egmont Magazines, Egmont Books, Nordisk Film (film production and distribution, and cinemas), Egmont Kids Media (books, films, games, and Web holdings), and TV2 Group (television). Magazines include Hjemmet (Denmark), Hjemmet (Norway), and Hemmets Journal (Sweden). While most activities are concentrated in Scandinavia and Europe, Egmont also publishes kids' books in the US. Egmont H. Petersen founded the firm in 1878 as a printing shop. The company is owned by the Egmont Foundation, an organization devoted to charitable activities for children.
