Its Eaton Vance Distributors unit markets and sells its funds, separate accounts, and retail managed accounts via sales associates in the US, Europe, and Latin America, as well as a network of independent brokers, banks, and insurance firms. Chairman Jim Hawkes owns almost 25% of the firm; he and 15 other shareholders control Eaton Vance through a voting trust.
