East Alabama Medical Center Company Description
East Alabama Medical Center consists of a general acute care hospital with more than 350 beds and a skilled nursing facility with more than 35 beds. Facilities at the medical center, which is owned and operated by the East Alabama Health Care Authority, also include an adult day care center, cancer center, hospice, sleep disorders lab, and pediatric unit; services include diagnostic imaging, physical therapy, respiratory care, and psychiatric services. Some 140 physicians are part of its staff. Founded as an 80-bed hospital in 1952, East Alabama Medical Center serves residents of Lee County and four surrounding counties in east-central Alabama.
