The regional organic and natural foods supermarket chain operates more than 15 stores in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee. Its stores are smaller (the largest is 28,000 sq. ft.) than those of its conventional supermarket competitors and national natural foods chains like Whole Foods Market. Even so, Earth Fare stores offer about 26,000 natural and organic products, house cafes and juice bars, sell vitamins and herbs, and offer deli service and cooking classes. Earth Fare was founded in 1975 by Roger Derrough as a single Dinner for the Earth store. Derrough owns Earth Fare with other investors.
