DSM Dyneema Company Description
DSM Dyneema US finds dynamic uses for a deeply durable fiber. The company, a unit of the Dutch specialty chemicals maker DSM N.V., makes specialized polyethylene fiber (marketed as Dyneema) for use in bullet-proof armor, bomb disposal suits, heavy-duty marine cables, fishing nets, ropes, and safety gloves. The company estimates that Dyneema, which it calls "the world's strongest fiber," is up to 15 times stronger than steel. With its Dyneema Purity line, DSM Dyneema US also uses its lightweight material in medical and dental applications such as surgical cables and orthopedic sutures.
