Drexel Heritage Furniture Industries has made a name for itself building furniture. Founded in 1903 in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, the company is one of the leading residential furniture manufacturers in the US. Its Drexel and Heritage brands offer a variety of wood and upholstered furniture for every room in the house. The company sells its pieces through about 50 dedicated Drexel Heritage stores in the US and other furniture retailers in about 30 other countries. In 2001 LifeStyle Furnishings sold Drexel Heritage (along with Henredon Furniture and Maitland-Smith) to Furniture Brands International. The company is part of Furniture Brands International's HDM Furniture Industries unit.
