DRDGOLD Company Description
DRDGOLD, formerly Durban Roodepoort Deep, roots deep for profits. The gold mining and refining company produces more than 500,000 ounces of gold annually, and it has more than 8 million ounces in ore reserves. DRDGOLD focuses on three main projects in South Africa: the Blyvoor, ERPM , and the Crown properties. Recent growth for the company has come through its majority ownership of Emperor Mines, which operates projects in Papua New Guinea (the Tolukuma gold mine and a 20% joint venture stake in the Porgera mine) and Fiji (Vatakoula). The company operates in South Africa through DRDGOLD SA, of which it owns 74%; KhumoGold, a Black Economic Empowerment entity, owns the remainder.
