Overview
Dolphin is known for snubbing its customers, and that's a good thing. The company, a subsidiary of Fred.Olsen Energy, provides snubbing, hydraulic workover, and offshore drilling services to oil and gas exploration and production customers operating in the North Sea and off the coasts of Brazil and Trinidad. Dolphin, together with sister company Dolphin Drilling operates a fleet of eight semi-submersible drilling rigs, one deepwater drill ship, and a semisubmersible accommodation unit. Its customers have included Shell, Phillips Petroleum UK, and Smedvig. Dolphin was founded in 1965 under the name A/S Aker Drilling and was acquired by Fred.Olsen in 1976.
