Dogan Holding was founded in 1958 by its chairman as a transport company, later branching out into media (Mr. Dogan runs the oldest newspaper in Turkey), agriculture, commerce, construction, energy, industry, insurance, telecommunications, and tourism. The company owns six daily newspapers, publishes more than a dozen magazines, operates five cable television channels, and ten publicly traded companies. Adilbey Holding and the Dogan family together hold more than 65% of the company's ownership.
