DLF is building India ... literally. One of the largest real estate firms in the country, DLF is involved in numerous segments of the industry, including residential (luxury and mid-income condos, duplexes, and apartments), commercial (offices, malls, and hotels), industrial, and infrastructure. The group's portfolio includes about 225 million sq. ft. of completed development and more than 700 million sq. ft. of planned projects spanning some 30 cities across India. Sales are generated through short-term development and long-term lease income, 50% of revenues come from DLF's commercial business. The firm traces its roots to 1946 and has been under the leadership of chairman K.P. Singh since its inception.
