Chile's largest food retailer, the fast-growing company operates more than 180 supermarkets, hypermarkets, and convenience stores under the Express de LIDER, Hiper de LIDER, SuperBodega Acuenta, and Ekono banners that focus on food, but also offer cafés, apparel, electronics, and housewares. D&S also operates about 10 shopping centers and some 85 PRESTO financial services branches. PRESTO's services include insurance, utility payments, cash advances, and credit cards. The company, which began in 1957 as a supermarket chain owned and run by the Ibáñez family, was acquired by Wal-Mart Stores in 2009.
