Deerfield Capital Company Description
Deerfield Capital (formerly Deerfield Triarc) invests in real estate-related securities and other assets. Founded in 2004, the real estate investment trust (REIT) invests in high-quality residential mortgage-backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities, alternative investments, and leveraged finance instruments such as corporate mezzanine loans and bonds. It has some $8 billion of assets under management. In late 2007 the REIT acquired its former parent Deerfield & Company from Triarc and changed its name to Deerfield Capital. The deal streamlined its operations and brought in Deerfield Capital Management, which oversees more than $14 billion in fixed-income investments for institutional clients.
