Cymer Company Description
Simon says, "Cymer makes lasers." The company is the top manufacturer of excimer lasers, light sources used by chipmakers to pattern advanced semiconductors or chips. Its products enable semiconductor makers to produce smaller, faster chips. Be it an iPod, computer, Blackberry, or other electronic device, chances are Cymer's light helped create the chip inside. Cymer also supplies deep ultraviolet light sources to lithography tool manufacturers ASML, Nikon, and Canon who integrate the light source into their wafer steppers and scanners, which they then provide to chipmakers. Cymer has installed more than 3,300 light sources around the world in plants run by AMD, Fujitsu, IBM, Intel, NEC, Samsung, and TI.
