The City University of New York (CUNY) is the big "U" in the Big Apple. The college has 20 campuses in the five boroughs of New York City and is the US's largest urban university system. About 460,000 undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education students (from 164 countries) are enrolled at CUNY, which has 11 senior colleges, six community colleges, a doctoral-granting graduate school, a law school, the School of Professional Studies, and The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education. Its 1,400 academic programs range from specialized, career-oriented courses to traditional liberal arts curricula. CUNY employs some 6,100 full-time teaching faculty members.
