CSII Company Description

Where do hard hearts and dead limbs go for help? Often the only option for a calcified artery is bypass or amputation. But before the point of no return, Cardiovascular Systems offers a minimally-invasive catheter it developed to help treat a circulatory problem called peripheral arterial disease (PAD). PAD occurs when plaque builds up on vessels, causing decreased blood flow in patients suffering from diabetes or obesity. The company initiated limited manufacture of about 1,700 catheters, which it sold directly to hospitals in the US. It plans to use the proceeds from its IPO to pay off general corporate expenses and for possible acquisitions. The company is 15% owned by its directors and executive officers.
