CRH Company Description
CRH is an old-fashioned brick-and-mortar business. Through an international group of subsidiaries, CRH makes and distributes primary building materials and value-added products for the construction industry, do-it-yourselfers, and the infrastructure sector. Construction products, which account for about one-third of sales, include concrete blocks, bricks, insulation, glass, pavers, and roof tiles. CRH also makes such primary products as aggregates, asphalt, cement, and ready-mixed concrete, which account for more than 40% of sales. Through an expanding network of more than 800 branches, its business is fairly evenly distributed between North America and Western Europe.
