Overview

State-owned China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, known as COSCO Group, is one of the world's leading marine transportation companies. Its subsidiaries and affiliates deal in shipping, logistics, ship building and repairing, and terminal operations. It also offers financing and ship trading services, and it has investments in various financial institutions. Asia's largest operator of containerships, COSCO Group operates a fleet of 800 vessels, which also include dry bulk carriers, oil tankers, and specialized cargo ships with a total capacity of more than 55 million deadweight tons. Its shipping lines cover some 160 countries. COSCO Group is not be confused with state-owned rival China Shipping (Group) Company.
