Company Description
A shoe kicked off its first product in 1923, but hummel International now makes several lines of sportswear. The company began by making football (soccer) footwear and branched into other apparel (including color-coordinated tops, pants, jackets, and accessories) in the 1970s. Its kits (uniforms, jerseys) and other sports apparel bear a distinctive chevron pattern. Distribution today reaches worldwide; about 75 stores in the US carry its products. In 1997 hummel delved into the world of sporty fashion, adding track suits and denim. It debuted its first line of women's performance apparel in 2004. Founded in Germany before moving to Denmark in the 1950s, hummel is controlled by majority investor Thor Stadil.
