Zuken believes we get by with a little help from our friends -- especially when it comes to making electronics. The company produces computer-aided engineering (CAE), computer-aided design (CAD), and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software used for a variety of printed circuit board types and other electronic assemblies. Long a leading vendor in board design software and services, the Japanese company began venturing into electronic product lifecycle management applications, which it calls e-PLM. In 2007 the company combined its product lifecycle software with its design automation software to market the products as a single package. President Makoto Kaneko owns more than 15% of Zuken.
