Ever wonder how much your home is really worth? Zillow has the answers. The company's advertising-supported site provides a free estimated market value ("Zestimate") for nearly every home in America. Zillow.com visitors enter an address into a search field; Zillow computes the Zestimate (using its proprietary formula) and overlays it on a satellite map of the neighborhood to provide valuable information for homeowners and buyers. The name "Zillow" evolved from a combination of the words pillow (where you lay your head at night) and zillions (the number of data points the company desires to make accessible). Zillow was established in 2005 by Expedia founder Rich Barton and former Expedia executive Lloyd Frink. To read the full description, subscribe now.
