Utilizing local species such as red oak, white oak, and poplar, the company also makes stair parts, logs, and secondary hardwood products such as wood chips, shredded bark mulch, dry planer shavings, and sawdust. Weaber processes some 50 million feet of hardwood logs annually. Walter H. Weaber established the plant in Pennsylvania's Appalachian forest in the 1950s. President and CEO Galen Weaber assumed ownership of the company in 1971 and has run it ever since.
