Company Description
Vermilion Energy (formerly Vermilion Energy Trust) tries to stay out of the red by developing oil and gas properties in Canada, France, Australia, and the Netherlands. Vermilion is one of the leading energy trusts in Canada. It has proved reserves of about 95 million barrels of oil equivalent and more than 2.2 million gross acres of undeveloped land. It has a daily production of more than 19,700 barrels of crude oil and 70 million cu. ft. of natural gas. The company is pursuing a strategy of expanding its asset base through complementary acquisitions, farm-ins, asset optimization and exploration activities. In 2011 the company acquired six oil properties in France for $108 million.
