The independent oil and natural gas exploration and development company has holdings across nearly 163,000 acres in the Uinta basin, most of which is undeveloped. The company has proved reserves of more than 35 million barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) with daily output of more than 4,800 BOE. Nearly 90% of its reserves are oil. Ute Energy operates about half its wells; third-party operators work the rest but the company is gradually shifting to operating more of its own. The Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation formed parent company Ute Energy LLC in 2005; Ute Energy Corp formed and filed to go public in 2012.
