Company Description

Union Electric Steel, a subsidiary of Ampco-Pittsburgh, manufactures forged steel rolls, including hot and cold mill rolls. Services include rough machining and finish machining, along with hardening and tempering. The company operates three plants in Pennsylvania and one in Indiana; subsidiary Davy Roll manufactures cast roll products in the UK. It produces 55,000 tons of rolled steel products annually. Union Electric Steel formed a joint venture with Maanshan Iron & Steel to construct a facility that will produce forged  hardened steel back-up rolls, larger in size and weight than Union Electric can produce alone. The company was founded in 1923.
