Company Description
Good thing the word "bank" is similiar in so many languages. UniCredit Bank (formerly Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank, and now doing business as HypoVereinsbank or HVB Group) is one of Germany's largest banks, after Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank. The company operates more than 775 branches throughout the country and maintains a location in New York City. HypoVereinsbank is organized into three divisions: corporate and investment banking, retail banking, and private banking. Corporate and investment banking accounts for more than three-fourths of its revenue. HypoVereinsbank was acquired by Italian banking giant UniCredit in 2008, three years after UniCredit took its initial, majority stake.
