Uhde India, a part of German engineering company Uhde, provides design and construction services for the chemical, petrochemical, fertilizer, refinery, and pharmaceutical industries in India and abroad. The company has worked on more than 400 contracts -- domestic projects include an ammonia storage tank system for Shiraz Petrochemicals, a membrane cell facility for Travancore Cochin Chemicals, and a zinc smelting plant for Hindustan Zinc. The company started out as a construction office in 1965 and became a subsidiary of Uhde in 1977. Uhde is a segment company of ThyssenKrupp Technologies.
