U.S. Sugar is tangy and sweet. The company is a top US cane sugar maker and citrus grower. It produces some 700,000 tons of sugar and more than 20 million boxes of oranges a year. Its sugar comes from more than 150,000 acres of sugarcane in South Florida; it's sold to baked-goods, ice-cream, and other food manufacturers, as well as to food retailers. The company also makes citrus molasses, used by distillers and as a feed supplement for cattle. Its subsidiary Southern Gardens Citrus is one of the largest suppliers of not-from-concentrate orange juice in the US.
