The Federal bankruptcy system has a watchdog called the USTP. A component of the Department of Justice, the United State Trustee Program (USTP) promotes the efficiency and protects the integrity of the federal bankruptcy system by enforcing bankruptcy laws and overseeing the administration of bankrupcty cases and private estate trustees. The USTP also identifies and helps investigate bankruptcy fraud and abuse in coordination with US Attorneys, the FBI, and other law enforcement agencies.
